Ardmore Cliff Walk – Sept 9

Rain sprinkles. Wind, of course as it's by the ocean.

Cliffs are spectacular and with some history. A pilgrimage site dating back to the 5th century, dedicated to St. Declan, who founded one of Ireland's earliest Christian communities.

A coastguard Station built in 1867, it was manned until the Civil War in 1922 and was later burned down.
Napoleonic-era lookout post: Built during the Napoleonic Wars to warn against a possible French invasion Signals were relayed between these stations to a distance of, like 1000 km!
A world War II lookout post: A second lookout tower was built in 1940 to serve as a coastal surveillance point during WWII. The "Rams head" housed a spring.
